Composting Recycle kitchen scraps. If you do not have access to a chipper- do not save bones, seafood or animal scraps. When preparing meals, size portions for minimum waste on the plate. Tupperware is re-useable and saves food for another nights meal. Make sure your food bins (compost) is securely closed when not in use- [...]

1. Don’t continuously run the water while brushing your teeth. Instead, fill a cup to be used during rinsing and use only that amount. 2. Turn off water while bathing. Get wet, turn it off, soap up and rinse off. 3. If it’s yellow let it mellow, if it’s brown flush it down. 4. Repair [...]

Geothermal Air Conditioning

Using the nearly constant temperature of the Earth to absorb heat from and provide heat for buildings is the basis for the most efficient air conditioning systems available today. The temperature of the earth is not dependant on the season, as is the temperature of the air, so using water circulated through the earth as a heat exchange medium gives consistent, efficient results. Water-source or earth-coupled machines can be (and mostly are) installed inside the building, greatly reducing the effects of equipment deterioration due to atmospheric conditions. Earth-coupled machines are used to heat and cool buildings, domestic water systems and pools.
